Eva Marcille Wore Michael Costello Design To BET Awards As ‘Statement’ Of Support Amid Calls For His Cancelation Over Alleged Use Of ‘N-Word’

That’s her friend and she gon’ stick beside him! Eva Marcille is doubling down on her support of dear friend, designer Michael Costello, following allegations of his use of the “n-word” and she chose the BET Awards red carpet as her platform.

The lid on this whole thing was blown off when Michael Costello got entangled in Chrissy Teigen’s drama. People were calling for Chrissy’s cancelation over her previous bullying of then 16-year-old Courtney Stodden, for which she has apologized.

That’s when Michael decided to speak out about his experience with Chrissy, claiming the model bullied him to the point where he contemplated suicide, but his speaking out may have backfired after several Black women came forward speaking on their own negative experience with the designer.

A Black boutique owner then alleged that Michael called her the n-word, but he denied the allegation.

Then enters Eva Marcille, who has been longtime friends with the designer. A few weeks ago, Eva took to social media to defend Michael.

Eva stated, “I know my friend Michael I know who he is I know his heart and #MichaelCostello is my GOOD FRIEND. Don’t let a headline or an out-of-context message allow you to be judge someone’s intention as if we are a God or furthermore cancel someone as if they are not a person. Loyal 10 toes down, Michael you’re my baby.”

Then on Sunday, Eva showed up to the 2021 BET Awards dressed in one of Michael Costello’s designs. When asked by Extra’s Rachel Lindsay if her dress was a statement, Eva said that it indeed was.

“The statement is he is my friend and will always be my friend,” Eva told Rachel, adding that she’s not here for canceling people. You can watch the clip below:
